Why - We Believe in Health and Safety
Safe Work Australia’s most current health and safety statistics details 128,050 workers compensations claims for serious (more than 4 weeks of work) work related injuries or illness. One quarter of this number required more than 12 weeks off work. Fatalities at the workplace were 228, which equates to nearly one per working day (averaged per working days in one year). The cost to workplace injury and illness was estimated at $60.6 billion or represented as 4.8% of GDP.)
At the core of everything we do at S.M.A.R.T is the belief that safer work places are critical to further reducing the occurrences of work related injuries, that the prevention of work fatalities and injuries is an achievable objective and that no person should be harmed, while providing for themselves, their loved ones and/or their families whilst at work.
